MAY 1, 2013 ANNUAL RATE INCREASE
Water Use Restrictions Go Into Effect
May 1, 2013
The Board of Water Commissioners wish to announce the activation of the mandatory water use restriction for Cherry Valley and Rochdale Water District customers effective May 1, 2013.
Under the restriction, all nonessential outdoor water use is not allowed between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nonessential water use includes irrigation of lawns by sprinklers and automatic sprinkler systems, washing of vehicles and washing of exterior building surfaces, parking lots and driveways. Use of handheld hoses for plants and gardens is allowed.
Under the District’s Rules and Regulations, failure to comply with this mandatory restriction program will first result in a written warning. Subsequent violations can result in fines, the discontinuances of water service with a termination and restoration fee.
The mandatory water use restriction is a requirement under the MassDEP Water Management Act Permit and will be effective each year between May 1 and Oct 1.
